What Companies House data can and cannot tell you
The live register is not a survival rate. Electronic accounts are not typical takings.
The live file tells you how many companies are on it now, how new they are, who has never filed, and who is in strike-off or liquidation still on the file. Firms that already left are missing.
That is why this product never derives a multi-year survival rate from the live register.
Electronic accounts cover a subset of filers, not every company. Turnover tags are rare. A missing tag is a gap, not a typical cafe take.
Registered office geography is a mailbox geography, biased toward formation-agent postcodes.
